Dr. Bill Grabe
 

 


William Grabe, Regents’ Professor at Northern Arizona University, teaches in the MA-TESL and PhD in Applied Linguistics programs. He is interested in reading, writing, literacy, written discourse analysis, and content based instruction. He co-authored Theory and Practice of Writing (with R..B. Kaplan; Longman, 1996) and Teaching and Researching Reading (with F. Stoller; Longman, 2002). His new book, Reading in a Second Language: Moving from Theory to Practice (Cambridge), is due out in Spring 2009. He served as editor of the Annual Review of Applied Linguistics (Cambridge University Press, 1990-2000). He served as President of the American Association for Applied Linguistics.

 
 


Dr. Fredricka Stoller
 

 



Fredricka L. Stoller
is Professor at Northern Arizona University, where she teaches in the MA-TESL and Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics programs. She is co-author of Teaching and Researching Reading (with W. Grabe, Longman, 2002), Javier Arrives in the US: A Text for Developing Readers (with Nina Rosen, Pearson Longman, 1994), Write Like a Chemist: A Guide and Resource (with Marin Robinson et al., Oxford University Press, 2008), and co-editor of A Handbook for Language Program Administrators (with M. A. Christison, Alta, 1997). Areas of interest include L2 reading, disciplinary writing, content-based instruction, methodology, curriculum design, and teacher training.
