In Loving Memory

 



Dr. Wendy Whitacre, who was for many years an instructor at the Center for English as a Second Language
(CESL) at the University of Arizona in Tucson, passed away on September 28th, 2007. Loved by all who
knew her, Wendy is fittingly memorialized at CESL by means of an audio/video clip from her OLE (Online
Language Environments) board.

A memorial servoce was held at CESL on Sunday, November 4th. In addition, an educational fund at CESL
is being set up to celebrate Wendy's life. For donation information, please send an e-mail message to CESL@email.arizona.edu. Donations in Wendy's name may also be given to the Primerva Foundation or
to the charity of your choice

In mid-July, 2006, the field of TESL lost a dearly-loved practitioner, Dr. Jean Zukowski/Faust. The impact
of Jean's passing extends far beyond Arizona, since she touched the lives of countless individuals from
throughout the world.

We who are involved in AZ-TESOL especialy miss Jean, since she was a founding member of the organization,
held almost every office on the AZ-TESOL Board. and was teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend to all of us.
